Mississippi RT Car Tag Update

UPDATE on Specialty Car Tags for Mississippi Respiratory Therapists! Since July 2023, we’ve been working hard under Miss. Code Ann. § 27-19-56.556 to secure a specialty license plate for Respiratory Therapists — WE FINALLY SUCCEEDED!  The respiratory therapist specialty tag applications and fees were hand-delivered to the Mississippi Department of Revenue this week after resolving a few initial issues and confirming all required documentation was in order.

The tags are expected to be ready in approximately 2.5 to 3 months. We’ll provide an update as soon as the state notifies us that they are available for pickup.

 

By purchasing a Mississippi Respiratory Therapist specialty tag, you’re directly supporting the Mississippi Society for Respiratory Care. A significant portion of the fee is directed to the Society to help fund education, advocacy, and programs that benefit respiratory therapists and the patients we serve across Mississippi. This not only provides meaningful financial support but also raises public awareness of the vital role respiratory therapists play in healthcare.
